Mrs. Portia K. Pisello, M.Ed.

I am dually certified by the State of Massachusetts in both Elementary Education (1-6) and Special Education with Moderate Special Needs (K-8) with degrees from Reed College, American International University, and course work at Framingham State University and Fitchburg State University.  I am also a certified Wilson Reading System instructor. I have been a teacher in Ashland Public Schools since 2011, but have worked in the district in other roles within special education since 2001.  I believe whole-heartedly in the Ashland Public Schools' mission and am proud to say that both of my children have received their education in Ashland.  I know from long experience and my own observations that every child can learn.  It is our job as teachers to know our students and give them the tools and support they need in order to make the most of their time at school.
